Claire Marie Losty Luis
Claire M. Luis, formerly Claire
Marie Losty, is the daughter of William Burns Losty and Irene
Bresnahan. Claire was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts February 8,
1933 and attended the local schools in Holyoke. She graduated from
St. Jerome
High School in Holyoke, attended Pomona College and received a
master's
degree in English from Claremont Graduate School.
Claire
married Nick Luis and from this union produced two sons. Stephen
and Brian
MONTCLAIR, Calif. - Claire Marie
(Losty) Luis, 66, of this town, died Sept.
24 at home. She was an English teacher and the editor of the school
newspaper at Garey High School in Pomona, Calif. She retired in 1992.
Born
in Holyoke, Mass., she lived here since 1962. She graduated from St. Jerome
High School in Holyoke, attended Pomona College and received a
master's
degree in English from Claremont Graduate School. She was a Navy
veteran of
the Korean War. She was registered at the Women in Military Service
Memorial
Foundation in Washington, D.C. She leaves her husband, Nick Luis of
Montclair; two sons, Stephen of Chino and Brian of Chino Hills; two
daughters, Christine Randolph of Rim Forest and Dani Little of Sanger;
two
sisters, Mary Burgess and Irene Arnold, both of Holyoke; and eight
grandchildren. Services were held at Draper Memorial Chapel, with
burial in
Veterans' Park at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Ontario, Calif.
