JOHN LOSTY & MARY
CAFFREY
This page is currently being researched and does not
reflect the complete history of John Losty & Mary Caffrey (Caprey)
and his descendents. However,
the information that is listed is correct. Anyone with
information regarding John Losty born in the late 1700's who married
Miss. Mary Caffrey / Caprey / Capry is welcome and we urge you to contact
us
(Alt:
Caprey, Cafry)
John Losty,
husband to Mary Caffrey is possibly a brother to Matthew
J. Losty born in the late 1700's.
A record of John
& Mary's marriage was located in Clane,
Kildare, Ireland, the date was August 10, 1833.
Given the fact that Irish young married about the age of 27 years
this would estimate John’sbirth to be about 1806.
Which indicates to us, if he is the brother
to Matthew J. Losty, he is the younger brother to
Matthew.
Although we do
not have Matthew J. Losty's exact birth year, we do know his wife,
Mary Jane Losty was born in 1780. Therefore we assume,
at this point, Matthew was born around the same
time as his wife during the late 1700's.
It is unknown if John immigrated
our of Ireland and we do not know his date of death.
John & Mary's Children
John and Mary were married
on August 10, 1833 and the
first recorded birth was ten years after they married in 1843.
We find this a bit unusual and
theorize John & Mary had children prior to 1843 who did not get
recorded. We welcome any knowledge from the Losty Researchers
in Ireland regarding the births of John & Mary Caffrey Losty's
children between the years 1833 and 1843.
