Both, Russell George
Losty & Marie Rita Loretta Benoit, were born in Holyoke Massachusetts and remained there all of their
lives. I was also born in Holyoke, Massachusetts and a year later
I left Holyoke with
my parents and moved to Ohio. Ten years later we returned to the
New England area and we were living in Enfield, CT only (miles) from
Holyoke, Mass. It was during these years I became reacquainted with my
Grandparents Russell & Rita. At the time, I was too young to be interested
in my family history so I did not know very much about them --
although I
have very fond memories of them during those precious years in the
mid-70's. I have a few photos of them when they visited our home in
Connecticut; one of which I personally took of Grandpa Russell while
he was strolling around the yard. I don't think he even knew I
was watching him.
Unfortunately our
family moved again some 1600 miles away and I never saw my
Grandparents again. In 1999, my only child Jared Maxwell Ellis - Pevy,
was born on my Grandmother's birthday, September 20th, and it was the
arrival of my son that got me interested in learning more about my
Grandparents. I began to question my mother, Joan Losty
Ellis about our family and, as you can see from this website, she has
provided me with an extensive history of not only the Losty Family and
The Benoit Family (soon to come) but also many of the Great
Grandparents of both the Losty's and Benoits.
It is,
without a doubt, the most precious gift she could have ever given me
and it is with my deepest & most sincere gratitude I give thanks
to my Mother Joan and it is to her, and my Grandparents Russell Losty & Rita Benoit
